About Me

I learned to knit to get myself through medical school without going losing my mind. it’s become a lifelong passion- my husband and I like to travel the world, finding other knitters, yarn shops and knitting friends.

What I teach

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.

Novice Knitting Class

This two-hour class will familiarize you with knitting skills. I’ll provide you the needles, yarn, skills and confidence to leave the lesson with a knitted “thing!” You’ll be knitting sweaters in no time!

Novice Crochet

In our two-hour class, we’ll cover some basic stitches in crochet. You’ll have some great basics and leave the class with a crochet “thing” and be well on your way to a blanket or amigurumi.

Stitch Workshop

Book an hour lesson for the skills workshop and let me know what you’d like to work on. I’m pretty sure I can help you with most skills. Patterns, stitches, project fixes- let’s do it!

Amigurmi Class

What’s cuter than Amigurumi? Nothing. This class can take your basic crochet skills to the level you need to create a cte little toy, or I’ll teach you from scratch. There are a few knitting amigurmi patterns available, as well!

I’ve got some questions!

That’s good news, because I have some answers. I hope they match up!sealed
Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

What's the difference between knitting and crochet?

Knitting and crocket are two ways to weave fabric from yarn. They’re very similar, yet very different. Crochet is (usually) faster and the stitches are more strctured. That’s why toys (amagurumi), blankets and bags are crocheted more often than they’re knitted. Knitting allows for more options with stitches and often entails lace, more complicated patterns and clothing.
Neither is better or more fun. Some people do both, some concentrate on one art.

It's been a long time since I've played with yarn, how do I know if it I'm a novice or intermediate.

The good news is that it doesn’t matter.
I’ll meet you where you are in your journey and we can advance your skills to whereever you’d like to take them.

Where do you teach your classes?

I have a few places where I do my teaching. Typically, I find a coffee shop, library or other fun place. My class sign upd allow you to choose from one of my “usual spots” or we can find a convenient place between us.

What do I need to bring?

Novice learners need nothing but a great attitude. My class fees for a first time class include the materials you’ll need to get started and learn. I’ve found that some yarns and needles work better than others for learners.

I'm a good knitter, but I'm stuck!

EVERYONE gets stuck sometimes. I teach a couple of classes that might help.

  • SOS: I’m happy to help you unstuck yourself if you’re having pattern problems.
  • Pattern advice: I can help you choose the right pattern and give you a roadmap to tackle a daunting project.
  • New stitches: learning new stitches is so mch fun, whether it’s brioche, waffle, fair isle or antying else, I can help
